One of the various legends about the founding of Amsterdam tells of two men and a dog who shipwrecked with their Kogge boat on the Amstel River (which crosses the city and also names a well-known beer brand). Here, they found a piece of fertile and dry land where they settled, and thus the two men, the dog, and the Kogge boat are depicted in the city’s oldest coats of arms. Of course, we do not know who these two men were, nor the name of the dog, but it is still nice to imagine them in that situation, ready to roll up their sleeves and manage and contain the waters – which is a primary occupation in what are aptly called the “Low Countries.”
Perhaps it is also because of this necessity – this need to “keep things clean” – that Amsterdam hosts, from May 14th to 17th, the Interclean Amsterdam, the largest global fair dedicated to cleaning and hygiene, a major international meeting point for professionals in the field.
Where Mar Plast will, of course, be present.
We at Interclean
For the occasion, we will bring some of our new products to the Dutch city.
In particular, the SmartMP our “smart solution” that, thanks to a sensor placed inside the dispensers, allows real-time monitoring of the fill status, enabling timely interventions without the need for random checks.
Additionally, we will have with us Artemis the innovative sanitary pad dispenser we designed to meet the needs of women, crafted to ensure comfort and peace of mind, allowing each to experience her cycle without worry or concern.
And finally, in the city of tulips, multicolored house facades, and the Van Gogh Museum, we could not refrain from presenting a new collection that features color as its distinctive trait.
This year’s edition of Interclean Amsterdam promises to be very stimulating, with over 900 exhibitors, 11 exhibition halls, more than 30,000 expected visitors, and over 100 sessions focused on sustainability, technology, health, and cleanliness. We look forward to seeing you there: come visit us at Hall 11, Stand 103: www.intercleanshow.com
P.S. When Things “Get Out of Hand”
Remember the two men and the dog? Well, evidently things worked out very well for them, so much so that later, they successfully exported the possibility of regulating community life through the cleaning of drainage channels, founding what was initially a small fishing village somewhere in the new world.
Without much imagination – after all, one cannot have all the qualities – they called it New Amsterdam.
Now it is known as New York.
