World Day for the Rights of Children and Adolescents

The Convention on the Rights of the Child and Adolescent is an international agreement adopted by the UN exactly 35 years ago, on November 20, 1989. Since then, November 20 has been celebrated each year as the day to honor this landmark document, which defined the personal, social, and political rights of minors – such as the right to a name, nationality, education, play, and protection from all forms of exploitation – as well as the obligations necessary to ensure these rights are upheld and safeguarded.

The Right to Health for Children and Adolescents

Article 24, Clause 1 of the Convention recognizes the right of minors and adolescents to enjoy the highest attainable standard of health, starting with personal and intimate hygiene, as well as access to adequate healthcare services. The recent pandemic has underscored the importance of simple daily actions, such as washing and sanitizing hands in clean environments using effective tools, especially in public spaces like schools and workplaces.

A “Colored Kids” Approach: Mar Plast for Schools

At Mar Plast, we have developed numerous products aimed at promoting hygiene in public spaces, including schools – places where children and teenagers spend many hours daily, coming into contact with germs and bacteria. Our restroom accessories for schools and kindergartens are designed to create cheerful environments, thanks to their vibrant colors such as orange, blue, and green. This approach encourages younger children to adopt and maintain good hygiene habits.

The Colored Collection – featuring dispensers, toilet roll holders, soap dispensers, paper towel dispensers, brush holders, and waste bins – is available in six different tones. This collection is designed to surprise and add a playful touch, making hygiene routines more enjoyable for even the youngest users.

Artemis: “Once a Month”

In recent months, we launched the Artemis line, an innovative range of sanitary product dispensers designed to meet the needs of women.

“Artemis” also stems from our reflection on the needs of female students in schools. This simple-to-use product is compatible with most single-packaged sanitary pads, ensuring comfort and peace of mind.

Building a Better Future

The World Day for Children and Adolescents provides a crucial opportunity to support, promote, and celebrate the rights of minors. In today’s complex world, November 20 serves as a moment to reflect and envision a better future for every boy and girl. And, after imagining it, to take steps toward building it.
